Year 6 Term 1 Week 17 Blog

In English class this week the students shared their Christmas stories with the class. The students also worked on practicing their performances for the Christmas event. The students also began brainstorming what they hope their uniforms will look like for when they enter the MYP program next year.  In UOI class the students worked on their exhibition projects, and creating new slides for their presentations on famous inventions throughout history. The students were given a checklist to follow for their Google Slides presentations on what their expectations are for this project. In Maths class this week the students worked on a cumulative review covering multiplication, divisions, decimals, statistics, and place value. The students enjoyed working in their groups to show what skills and techniques they have remember from past units. Last night's Christmas show was a great success. Year 6 Term 1 Week 16 Blog

In English class this week the students worked on writing and creating a story based off of a picture prompt relating to a winter scene. The students shared these stories by reading them aloud to the class. The students also worked on proofreading their work to check for proper sentence structure and grammar within their writing. Furthermore, the students worked on improving their performance of "Sara Finds Christmas" for next week's Christmas event. In Maths class we wrapped up our unit on Geometry this week. The students took an assessment on solving for the missing angles of each shape. Next week, we will begin our cumulative review of some of the concepts that have been covered throughout term 1. In UOI class we continued exploring different inventors throughout history and reflected on how impactful some of these inventions have been in society.
