In English class the learners began reading an autobiography on the life of John Muir. John Muir, is one of the famous North American authors that the students learned about during International Week. He worked to preserve the forest of North America. For writing, the learners worked on creating stories that incorporate some of their spelling words to help build word meaning skills. For next week the learners will be researching different assigned topics, gather data and then respond by reflecting about what they learned from their research.
UOI
This week in UOI the learners have worked on wrapping up their Unit 4 projects. The learners have created Ebooks relating to the central idea for this unit. Examples of their work and summative assessment can be found in the following link: Unit 4 Summative Assessment Projects.
Beginning next week the learners will be covering a new topic for Unit 5. The learners will be focusing on the following things for Unit 5:
1. What is our purpose? To inquire into the following:
Transdisciplinary theme: An inquiry into orientation in place and time; personal histories; homes and journeys; the discoveries, explorations and migrations of humankind; the relationships between and the interconnectedness of individuals and civilisations, from local and global perspectives.

Maths
In Maths class this week the learners wrapped up their unit on calculating percentages and converting percentages into decimal numbers. For next week the learners will begin a new unit covering the following concepts:
Green Group:
- Continue to complete and interpret information in a variety of sorting diagrams
- (including sorting properties of numbers and shapes).
- Enumerate possibilities of combinations of two variables.
Yellow Group
- Use estimation and inverse to check answers to calculations and determine, in the
