Year 6 Term 3 Week 2 Blog

English This week the learners worked on building their skills in the four main types of writing: Expository, Persuasive/Argumentative, Narrative, and Descriptive. For each day this week the children focused on a different style of writing. For next week the children will work on building their reading comprehension and fluency skills.  Maths   In Maths class this week the children have been working on different activities to help build their problem solving skills using different methods of Maths computation including the following: multiplication, division, subtraction and addition or various types of numbers. For next week the learners will be working on projects to help build and share their knowledge of geometric shapes and prisms. Year 6 Term 3 Week 1 Blog

English This week in English class the learners have been working on building their reading comprehension and fluency skills, making inferences and building their confidence is creating video responses relating to the stories they have read. In addition, as part of their Student Led Conferences the children should have shared their work from Term 2 with you along with share their portfolios and complete the provided self-reflection sheet. For next week the children will be working on building skills in the 4 different writing styles.  Maths  In Maths class this week the children have been working on converting units of measurement including length, mass and liquid volume. Year 6 Term 2 Week 13 Blog

We have now come to the end of Term 2 for this academic school year. Due to COVID-19 there have been some major changes that we have had to adapt to for the last 2.5 weeks of this term. I would like to thank the parents for all of your support in helping to make this transition as smooth as possible and I would also like to commend the children for their hard work and engagement during these online learning sessions. Hopefully we will be able to return to in class learning as soon as possible. Parents please keep an eye out for any updates that may be sent via email or via the school Line group during the break regarding the COVID-19 situation.
