Year 6 Term 2 Week 12 Blog

We have now completed week 2 of our virtual learning sessions. This week I would like to commend the learners for their hard work and for their engagement in our virtual learning lessons. They continue to grow in confidence using Google Classroom, Flipgrid and other resources. The children have been sharing some videos and photos of their work with me and I have attached a few to this blog for the parents to see. For any Flipgrid videos parents will have to ask their child to login to their accounts to view the videos. In English this week the children worked on different reading and writing activities. They completed a unit on building their skills in grammar. For next week the learners will continue working on similar activities to build their writing and reading comprehension skills. Year 6 Term 2 Week 11 Blog

Dear Parents, We have just completed our first 3 sessions of the Year 6 Virtual Learning. As we continue to use Virtual Learning to cover learning tasks I will continue to make changes as we proceed to make this format of teaching and learning as engaging as possible for all. As Virtual Learning is something new to Thailand it may be difficult in the beginning for parents and learners to initially get used to using. However, Virtual Learning has been in practice for many years in many nations and is now currently being used all around the world during this time to combat the spread of Corvid-19. Please ensure we are doing everything possible to help your children continue learning while at home.    Most students have been very proactive with completing their daily tasks. Please encourage your child to continue to take part in the daily video calls, share their questions with me and to view videos associated with the learning tasks to help build their understanding...

Year 6 Term 2 Week 10 Blog

English  In English class the learners began reading an autobiography on the life of John Muir. John Muir, is one of the famous North American authors that the students learned about during International Week.  He worked to preserve the forest of North America. For writing, the learners worked on creating stories that incorporate some of their spelling words to help build word meaning skills. For next week the learners will be researching different assigned topics, gather data and then respond by reflecting about what they learned from their research.    UOI This week in UOI the learners have worked on wrapping up their Unit 4 projects. Year 6 Term 2 Week 9 Blog

English This week in English class the students have learned about John Muir a famous author from North America who worked to save the forests of the world. The students created, mind maps, and wrote a reflection about what they have learned about John Muir. Also the students worked on the writing process based on picture prompts. The students were able to read their essays and share them with the class. For next week the students will be working on building their grammar and using more advance vocabulary within their writing.       UOI  In UOI class the students are continuing to work on their Unit 4 projects. The students are now working on creating e-books and documenting their research findings into their e-books.
