Halloween at UDIS (Trying to start a new tradition)
Today we celebrated Halloween in a non-scary dressing up day to reflect our house team colours. We played a special Halloween game and learned some special dance moves.

เราฉลองเทศกาลฮาโลวีนแบบน่ารักและแต่งตัวตามสีที่ตัวเองอยู่. เราเล่นเกมส์และเรียนรู้การเต้นในแบบฮาโลวีน.

Maths update
We have been learning about 2D shapes and their properties. Do you know what a heptagon is? Your children should know. We are also learning about angles and how to use a protractor. This is the kind of vocabulary we have been working on...curved...straight...interior/exterior...length...obtuse angle...acute angle...right angle...perpendicular...parallel...scalene triangle...isoceles triangle...equilateral triangle...right angled triangle and lines of symmetry.

เราได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับรูปร่าง 2 มิติและคุณสมบัติ คุณรู้หรือไม่ว่ารูปหกเหลี่ยมคืออะไร? นักเรียนทุกคนควรรู้. และเรากำลังเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับมุมและวิธีการใช้ไม้โปรแทรกเตอร์ นี่คือคำศัพท์ที่เราต้องใช้เพื่อเรียนเกี่ยวกับรูปร่าง...โค้ง...ตรง...ภายใน/ภายนอก...ความยาว...มุมป้าน...มุมแหลม...มุมขวา...ตั้งฉาก.. .ขนาน...สามเหลี่ยมมุมฉาก...สามเหลี่ยมหน้าจั่ว...สามเหลี่ยมด้านเท่า...สามเหลี่ยมมุมฉากและเส้นสมมาตร.

English
In English this week, children have been using speech marks in sentences and checking incorrect sentences to ensure that they make sense and have the correct punctuation.

ในภาษาอังกฤษในสัปดาห์นี้ นักเรียนได้ใช้เครื่องหมายคำพูดในประโยคและตรวจสอบประโยคที่ไม่ถูกต้องเพื่อให้แน่ใจว่าพวกเขาเข้าใจและมีเครื่องหมายวรรคตอนที่ถูกต้อง



         

Acknowledging information sources 
In their Library lesson the children learned about how to reference and acknowledge information sources. This is an important skill which will be needed  for the PYP Exhibition.

Home Learning
We want to make it easier for both student and parents to understand what our homework is for the week. It will be set on a Monday and due to be returned by the end of school exactly one week later. Children will expected to organise themselves in choosing the order in which they complete the activities. They are also expected to read for at least 20minutes

การเรียนรู้ที่บ้าน

นักเรียนมีการบ้านทุกสัปดาห์ โดยครูจะให้การบ้านนักเรียนมนวันจันทร์และครูหวังให้นักเรียนทุคนทำการบ้านให้เสร็จและส่งหลังจากให้การบ้านแล้วหนึ่งอาทิตย์. นักเรียนต้องจัดการตัวเองโดยเลือกเองว่าเขาต้องการทำกิจกรรมใดให้เสร็จก่อน. และผมหวังว่านักเรียนทุดคนจะอ่านหนังสืออย่างน้อย 20 นาทีทุกวัน.


The homework for next week 
  • Each child has a multiplication tables chart. Use this to practise quick recall of tables facts. When you are ready you can request to be tested. Out target is for everyone in the class to have completed this by the end of term 1
  • Children have a copy of our Learner Profile attitudes. They need to be able to name and spell these and to say whayt they mean.
  • KS2 Cursive letter joins handwriting sheets. Joining the letters a,b,c and d.
  • Go to Get Epic. Read the book about Migration which has been assigned to you. You may need an adult to help you with  some of the vocabulary.

  • นักเรียนทุกคนมีตารางสูตรคูณ. ใช้สิ่งนี้เพื่อฝึกการจำสูตรคูณอย่างรวดเร็ว เมื่อนักเรียนพร้อมพวกเขาสามารถขอทดสอบได้. วัตถุประสงค์ตือให้นักเรียนทุกคนจำได้ก่อนจบเทอม 1.

Year 6 Term 3 Week 6 Blog

English This week in English class the children worked on building their inferencing skills. The children were required to look at various slides and quotes and then respond to the inferencing questions relating to those slides and quotes. In addition the children received a list of 100 fun indoor activities that they could choose from to build various skills. For next week the children will work on reading different articles and will respond to their assigned questions.   Maths   In Maths class this week the children have been working on activities relating to converting decimals, percentages and fractions including word problems. Term 3 Wb 17th May

This week we all had our photographs taken. สัปดาห์นี้เรา ได้ถ่ายภาพนักเรียน ทุกคน We have been saying a final thank you to our PYPX mentors Ms Phibz, Ms Marie and Mr Kane. เราพูดขอบคุณเป็นครั้งสุดท้ายต่อครูที่ปรึกษาของนิทรรศการจบการศึกษาชั้นประถมซึ่งได้แก่ มิสฟิบส์, มิสมารีย์และมิสเตอร์เคน   Congratulations to Nadech for completing our Tables Challenge ขอแสดงความยินดีกับณเดชน์ที่ท่องแม่สูตรคูณสำเร็จครบ 12 แม่. Our assembly was led by the Student Council and we played some mini games.. กิจกรรมชุมนุมถูกจัดขึ้นโดยนักเรียนจากสภานักเรียนและเราเล่นเกมส์เล็กๆด้วยกัน              We have commenced our preparations for this event. The Science of Gardening

Term 3 Week 1 : The Science of Gardening This week we have been excitedly planning how to get the school vegetable garden back into a productive state. We’re tying this into our unit of inquiry on scientific developments. Central Idea : Scientific knowledge is constantly evolving and has an impact on people's lives. During this inquiry students are each taking on various aspects of developing our school vegetable patch. They are forming scientific questions related to the garden and applying a simple form of the scientific process. 1. Ask a question 2. Predict an answer. 3. Create a test to find the answer. (observe, measure, compare) 4. Share the findings. The biggest question on our minds so far is how to keep the soil watered when we are away over the holidays.
