 PYP Exhibition Project 2022

This poster is on display at the front of our PY building. It summarises the areas our Exhibition groups are working on. We look forward to sharing our learning at our Exhibition on Wednesday March 30th. The Exhibition is an opportunity for students to share the skills they have have learned following the Primary Years Programme. 

โปสเตอร์นี้ถูกติไว้ที่ทางเข้าของอาคาร PY. สรุปเกี่ยวกับขอบเขตการทำงานของนักเรียนแต่ละกลุ่ม เราหวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่จะได้นำเสนอโครงงานของเราในวันพุธที่ 30 มีนาคม. เพราะโครงงานคือการเปิดโอกาสให้นักเรียนได้แสดงออกถึงทักษะที่ได้เรียนผ่านมาทั้งหมดในช่วงการเรียนชั้นประถม.


My identity 
คุณลักษณะเฉพาะตัวของฉัน
We have been thinking about our personal identity and how we view ourselves and our families. This information is being shared on a thought shower/spider diagram in our classroom.

เราทำแผนผังเกี่ยวกับเรื่องราวส่วนตัวของเราและเรามองเห็นตัวเองและครอบครัวอย่างไร. โดยนำเสนอความคิดผ่านแผนผังใยแมงมุมในชั้นเรียน

Science UOI, Observational Drawing
วิทยาศาสตร์, วาดภาพตามการสังเกต  

We planted some seeds and have been observing them as they germinate and grow. We have been making careful observational drawings to show how the plants change every few days. We have also learned that plants do not always need soil to grow and that this is called hydroponics.

นักเรียนปลูกต้นไม้จากเมล็ดและเฝ้าสังเกตุการเจริญเติบโตของพืช และวาดรูปที่เราเห็นจากการสังเกตอย่างระมัดระวังเพื่อเปรียบเทียบการเปลี่ยนแปลงในทุกๆ 2-3 วัน และบางครั้งพืชก็ไม่จำเป็นต้องใช้ดินในการเจริญเติบโตเสมอไปเเละวิธีการนั้นเรียกว่า hydroponics.

The Special Certificates from Mathletics

It was great to see the whole class participate in our Mathletics week. Two children deserve a special mention for their success receiving special bronze awards for scoring over 1000 points.

เป็นเรื่องน่ายินดีอย่างยิ่งที่นักเรียนทั้งชั้นได้เข้าร่วมการแข่งขันสัปดาห์คณิตศาสตร์. และนักเรียนทั้งสองคนจากห้องเรียนเราได้รับรางวัลพิเศษเป็นใบประกาศนียบัตเหรียญเงินเพราะมีคะแนนมากกว่า 1000 แต้มจากการเข้าร่วมการแข่งขัน.

World Soil Day Assembly.

This happened on the same day as the King's Birthday. We learned about the three main layers of soil which were topsoil, humous and bedrock. We were able to examine some soil samples.

กิจกรรมนี้จัดร่วมกันกับวันพ่อแห่งชาติ. เราเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับดินซึ่งแบ่งได้เป็น 3 ประเภทหลักๆ ได้แก่ ดินทราย ดินร่วน และดินเหนียว และนักเรียนมีโอกาสได้ทดลองสัมผัสและเล่นเกมส์ที่ทดสอบความรู้เกี่ยวกับดิน

จับฉลากซานต้า



We will be celebrating Christmas on our last day of term and the children have decided to hold a Secret Santa gift exchange. The children have drawn the name of a classmate. Please buy and wrap a present for this person and bring it to school. The present should cost 400 baht or less and remember to keep the secret and not tell anyone who you are buying for, 

เราจะฉลองวันคริสมาสต์ในวันสุดท้ายของเทอมและนักเรียนได้ตัดสินใจที่จะจัดกิจกรรมจับฉลากแลกของขวัญ. โดยนักเรียนจับฉลากชื่อเพื่อนร่วมชั้นไปแล้วเมื่อวันจันทร์ที่ผ่านมา. และให้นำของขวัญมาโรงเรียนภายในสัปดาห์หน้า. ของขวัญควรมีราคาประมาณ 400  บาทหรือน้อยกว่าแต่นักเรียนต้องจำไว้ว่าการเเลกของขวัญต้องปิดเป็นความลับว่าเราจะซื้อให้ใคร,

We are keeping things very simple. Each child will bring a plate of food of their choosing. Mr John and Ms Snook will be providing drinks and ice cream. Do remember that we are a small class which should be reflected in the amounts you send in.

End of Unit

This week we came to the end of our unit of inquiry on cultural beliefs and values. Back in August we had very little understanding about how culture impacts beliefs and values. However, as the weeks went by we engaged in many learning activities. The first of these was interviewing teachers to ask for their input on a definition of culture. We went on to watch mini-documentaries, read several information books and speak to people who could teach us about their culture. As a concluding activity, we came together as a class to produce a joint video which describes some essential points of cultures which we are interested in. This was an exercise in collaborating on a project and exercising social skills. As you can imagine, there was a lot of research to do, and so we had a good opportunity to put into practice all we have been learning about how to conduct research. Year 6 Term 2 Week 3 Blog

English Class This week in English class the learners continued reading their guiding reading books. One group complete "The Chalk Box Kid" by Clyde Robert Bulla and will be assigned to a new guided reading book next week. The learners also worked on writing sentences using their spelling words and writing stories that highlighted their spelling words in their story. This is to enhance the written vocabulary that the learners are using within their writing. As part of their PSPE theme this week (Teamwork) the learners worked together to solve various riddles. For next week the learners will be working on writing reflections based on current events and building their skills in use of conjunctions.  Maths Class In Maths class this week the learners completed their unit on measurements. Rites of passage

Rites of passage Continuing with our unit of inquiry on culture, we have been looking into the rites of passage of various cultures. Here is the video we began with. Whatever culture we belong to there will be rites of passage that we all experience. As you probably seen, the classroom has many colourful images relating to culture. This week, we all chose one and researched the rites of passage of that culture. We have been learning that Kiddle is a good place to research from because the results are child friendly. Epic books also has good resources to read.  A key point of our learning this week has been looking into the features of an information report. Indeed there are several kinds of writing, all with different purposes, and so during the course of the year we are spending time with each of them.
