Breakfast Around the World. อาหารเช้าจากรอบโลก

During the week, we cooked a range of breakfast foods from around the world. We observed the chemical changes happening in the process of cooking. We thought about whether the breakfasts were balanced and if they were healthy. We rated the tastes of the foods in addition to keeping our own personal breakfast diaries. We also carried out research to find out about breakfasts using both book and online sources of information..

Monday วันจันทร์

We sampled three types of Thai Breakfast egg-in-pan, Joke rice porridge and Vietnamese bread. We rated the taste of each one and made notes summarising our thoughts.

On Tuesday we compared two types of porridge, Jok rice porridge from Asia and western style oatmeal porridge. We tasted without adding sugar or fruit or jam etc

Wednesday วันพุธ

Wednesday was our Egg day! We cooked eggs in many ways fried, scrambled omelette and boiled. We ran out of time so we did not make poached eggs. As well as cooking and tasting, we discussed the eggs changed when cooked from a scientific point of view.

On Thursday, we cooked Welsh Rarebit which is melted cheese on toast.

Friday was so special as we cooked a full English breakfast of sausage, bacon, fried egg, scambled egg. fried bread, baked beans, fried onions and grilled tomotoes. Most people thought it was delicious We talked about a balanced diet and that sometimes it is fine to eat unhealthy food, just not too often. We also agreed that grilling is usually preferable to frying in oil. Some families are choosing to use an air fryer which the makers claim is the healthiest way to cook,
