Term 1, Week 13


Activity 1 Build a structure which is as strong and tall as possible. It must support a
1 kg. weight and survive a simulated hurricane. Each group will be allocated
identical sets of resources to use.

กิจกรรมที่ 1 สร้างโครงสร้างที่แข็งแรงและสูงที่สุด ต้องรองรับน้ำหนัก 1 กก. และต้องรอดจากพายุเฮอริเคนจำลอง โดยแต่ละกลุ่มจะได้รับอุปกรณ์ที่จะใช้เหมือนกันทั้งหมด











Activity 2 Keeping Mr. John’s water cool. You will carry out a fair test using water, ice,beakers, a timer and thermometers in order to decide which material is best at keeping the drink coolest.

กิจกรรมที่ 2 รักษาน้ำนายจอห์นให้เย็น นักเรียนจะต้องทำการทดลองโดยใช้น้ำ น้ำแข็ง บีกเกอร์ ตัวจับเวลา และเครื่องวัดอุณหภูมิ เพื่อที่จะตัดสินใจว่าวัสดุใดดีที่สุดในการทำให้เครื่องดื่มเย็นนานที่สุด



Activity 3 The Great Egg Race. Build something that will protect a raw egg when dropped onto a hard surface from a height of 2 metres. (Children were forewarned about this activity so they could bring resources from home)

กิจกรรมที่ 3 การแข่งขันไข่ผู้ยิ่งใหญ่ นักเรียนสร้างสิ่งที่จะใช้ได้ผลเพื่อปกป้องไข่ดิบเมื่อตกลงบนพื้นแข็งจากความสูง 2 เมตร (นักเรียนต้องนำอุปกรณ์ที่จะใช้ในการทดลองนี้มาเองจากที่บ้าน)




Loy Krathong will be held on the Thurstday18 th November 2021 and that learners can wear house shirts or thai clothes.

กิจกรรมลอยกระทง จะจัดขึ้นในวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 18 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2564 และให้ผู้เรียนสวมสีประจำทีมของตนหรือชุดไทยมาร่วมกิจกรรม.

We are currently practicing our song for the Christmas video. This year, due to Covid, we will not be able to welcome parents on site, but we will prepare a video for you. Y5/6 students will record their song on Thursday, 2nd of December. For this occasion, could you send the following items in your child's bag:

ขณะนี้เรากำลังฝึกซ้อมเพลงสำหรับวิดีโอคริสต์มาส ปีนี้เนื่องจากโควิด เราจึงไม่สามารถต้อนรับผู้ปกครองในสถานที่ได้ แต่เราจะเตรียมวิดีโอไว้ให้คุณ นักเรียน Y5/6 จะบันทึกเพลงของพวกเขาในวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 2 ธันวาคม ในโอกาสนี้ คุณช่วยส่งของต่อไปนี้ใส่กระเป๋าของลูกคุณได้ไหม:

- Black t-shirt and black pants/shorts / - เสื้อยืดสีดำ กางเกงขายาวสีดำ
- Christmas accessories (OPTIONAL) / - เครื่องประดับคริสต์มาส (อุปกรณ์เสริม)

The final video will be shared with parents on the 10th of December.

Dear parents / เรียน ผู้ปกครอง.

This is a gentle reminder that parents can submit your child's antigen or PCR test result from tomorrow to 12pm on Sunday 14 November.
Students will need to submit an antigen or PCR test result before returning to school. You can send this to either admin@udis.ac.th or to @udis (our Official Line account).
Students without a test result will not be able to enter campus.

ขออนุญาตแจ้งเตือนว่าท่านสามารถส่งผลตรวจหาเชื้อโควิดโดยตรวจแอนติเจนหรือ PCR ได้ตั้งแต่วันพรุ่งนี้ จนถึงเวลา 12.00 น. ของวันอาทิตย์ ที่ 14 พฤศจิกายน
นักเรียนทุกคนจำเป็นต้องส่งผลตรวจแอนติเจนหรือ PCR ให้โรงเรียนก่อนเข้ามาเรียนที่โรงเรียน โดยส่งผลตรวจได้ที่ admin@udis.ac.th หรือ @udis (บัญชีไลน์ของโรงเรียน)
นักเรียนที่ไม่มีผลตรวจไม่สามารถเข้ามาภายในโรงเรียนได้.

Year 6 Term 3 Week 6 Blog

English This week in English class the children worked on building their inferencing skills. The children were required to look at various slides and quotes and then respond to the inferencing questions relating to those slides and quotes. In addition the children received a list of 100 fun indoor activities that they could choose from to build various skills. For next week the children will work on reading different articles and will respond to their assigned questions.   Maths   In Maths class this week the children have been working on activities relating to converting decimals, percentages and fractions including word problems. For next week the learners will be working on fun problem solving skills that requires them to solve the maths mysteries. Geography geniuses

This week we have been continuing on with our unit on migration. In order to do this properly we need to know the world map well. We have given a fair amount of time to learning the names of the oceans and continents. The most enjoyable activity was using Google earth to find the places we are learning about.  We even used 'Google Glasses' to watch 3D clips of far off places too. In our English lessons we have been reading about the migration experiences of young people. Our purpose was to do 'active reading'. This means that we have to think, take notes and talk to someone was we read. In this way, we understand the text more deeply. On Wednesday Our P.E teacher came to share his migration experience with us. He is Brazilian and taught us some basic facts about his country. It developed into a whole geography lesson about Brazil. We learned about how big Brazil is! Mr. Xavi told us about the Amazon jungle. we had so many questions to ask him. ...
